Abstract

Labour turnover are inevitable and many businesses and industries are dealing with this issue every single day. It is also a great issue in the Hospitality Industry, the intensity were varies according to the size of the establishment, some are low and many is as high as the height of their buildings. The fact also stated that workers in the hospitality industry in the early stage of their career expect to move from one job to another, creating a very low desirability of steady workplaces and the job security. Moreover, the labour turnover is very much increases when employees are far more specialised, more difficult to find and requires more training. Therefore, it is in the best interests of hospitality managers to understand the causes and the effects of turnover so that they may reduce its costs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the student response in comparison between Management Department and Accounting Department at the Faculty of Economics, University of Bunda Mulia, against a system of learning in the e-learning system based. The samples are taken by using non-probability sampling method that is very much purposive. The amount of data to be collected as many as 300 students (respondents) conducted in a proportion as of for the Accounting Department samples of 150 respondents were taken and from the Department of Management also 150 respondents were taken, with a standard error in around 1%. The amount of data is adjusted to the time of data collection conducted during the months of March to May 2008, this was also during the lectures take place in the second semester of 2007/2008. For the idea of applying the e-learning system based, the result in the major of accounting, which are 76%, said that the idea seems to be right if e-Learning is applied but for the Department of Management students, only 32% of students who was responded quite well.

Abstract

Nowadays, franchising is the most significant part in the hospitality industry through hotels and fast food restaurant. Franchisor gives the right to the franchisee to sell their product and service also to sub franchise it and worked under their brand name. Furthermore, in franchising there must be a contract between the franchisor and the franchisee which include the term and condition. Franchises include some aspects such as, screening, site selection, operating manuals and the pre opening. However, there are some advantages and disadvantages for both the franchisor and the franchisee. The expansion of franchise can be achieved through different strategies of distribution and the knowledge of the targeted market. The future of franchise can be gained through strategies of distribution system, which could emerge the entrepreneur into the majority economy and business.
