Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of earnings management, profitability, and inflation on stock return. The population in this study are companies on the LQ45 index company on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2020. The sample in this study is 30 companies that always appear as members of LQ45 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018-2020 and have complete data related to research variables determined based on the purposive sampling method. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of this study indicate that earnings management and inflation have a negative effect on stock return, while profitability has no effect on stock return.

Abstract

Considering the rapid development of Fintech, especially Rural Banks are finding themselves in a competitive position due to the convenience and comfort provided by Financial Technology. The aim of the research is to investigate if there is a relation between the emergence of financial technology and rural bank profitability in Bali's province. Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Operational Expenses to Operating Income were the profitability ratios evaluated in this study. The study's sample was 27 BPR Bali Province, which was determined using purposive sampling method. The statistical analyses were performed using the Paired T-Test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test The findings of this study reveal that the ratios of Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Operational Expenses on Operating Income (BOPO) of Rural Banks in Bali Province change significantly before and after the emergence of Financial Technology

Abstract

Stock split ialah satu dari sejumlah aksi korporasi yang menyebabkan perubahan nilai nominal tiap lembar saham serta menambah jumlah lembar saham beredar sejalan dengan adanya split factor. Adapun penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan menguji dan menganalisis apakah terdapat perbedaan abnormal return saham dan trading volume activity antara sebelum serta sesudah perstiwa stock split pada masa pandemi Covid-19 pada perusahaan di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode event study dan periode jendela selama 15 hari. Sampel penelitian berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling yaitu 10 perusahaan dari 12 populasi perusahaan yang melakukan stock split di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Teknik analisis menggunakan teknik uji beda rata-rata yaitu uji paired sample t-test untuk abnormal return, serta uji wilcoxon signed rank test untuk trading volume activity. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwasanya terdapat perbedaan abnormal return saham serta trading volume activity sebelum serta sesudah peristiwa stock split, nilai rata-rata abnormal return saham dan trading volume activity sebelum stock split lebih tinggi dibandingkan sesudah stock split. Penelitian memberikan implikasi bagi seluruh pihak sebagai bahan masukan dan pertimbangan dalam menentukan keputusan ditengah ketidakpastian kondisi pasar.

Abstract

Investment is an activity to invest directly or indirectly with the aim of obtaining a return. One form of indirect investment that is popular and in great demand by investors today is stocks. The level of return obtained by investors is not fixed and can change at any time. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of inflation, interest rates, ROA and EPS on stock returns. This research was conducted using the object of research, namely the coal sub-sector mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2016-2020 period. This study uses secondary data from the company's financial statements as well as the official website of Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results show that (1) inflation has no effect on stock returns, (2) interest rates have a negative effect on stock returns, (3) ROA has a positive effect on stock returns, and (4) EPS has a positive effect on stock returns.
