Abstract

In pavement layers, temperature is very important in affecting the strength of the asphalt mixture. Therefore, if the asphalt mixture is not at a certain temperature, the bond between aggregates will decrease and the mixture will become weak. The aim and purpose of this study was to test the mixing temperature of his AC-BC mixture using 5% asphalt. The methodology of this paper is AC-BC blend composition design and Marshall immersion testing to obtain residual Marshall stability values. It can be seen from the results of the tests carried out that values ​​for AC-BC mixtures were obtained for each variation at the mixture temperatures used, i.e. 120°C, 130°C, 140°C, 150°C and 160°. . C Stabilized value 1677.06 to 1940.40 kg, flow rate 3.87 to 2.92 mm, VIM 4.76% to 3.35%, VMA 16.41% to 15.17%%, VFB 70.01% to 77.92% Mixture temperature is Marshall parameter.

Abstract

The impact of adding bottom ash waste to a Direct Shear Test for clay soils with low shear strength and high compressibility is investigated in this study. The research entails evaluating the soil's physical properties and setting up bottom ash waste tests for the Direct Shear Test. For the first and second direct shear force tests, four test samples were utilized. The 15%, 20%, and 25% make up the utilized bottom ash waste mixture. The findings demonstrated that the soil possesses medium flexibility and inorganic clay's physical characteristics. In direct shear force testing, soil samples from points 1 and 2 yielded cohesion values (c) and shear angle values (). For point 1 soil samples, cohesiveness (c) values increased by 0.025 kg/cm2, 0.041 kg/cm2, 0.069 kg/cm2, and 0.076 kg/cm2, while shear angle (φ) values increased by 10.32°, 10.67°, 10.38°, and 14.16°. Additionally, cohesiveness (c) values of 0.048 kg/cm2, 0.077 kg/cm2, 0.084 kg/cm2, and 0.096 kg/cm2 and shear angle (φ) values of 11.82°, 14.35°, 14.20°, and 14.10° increased in Point 2 soil samples. According to the results, adding bottom ash waste increases the shear strength (c) and shear angle (φ) of the soil. It has been discovered that adding bottom ash waste to soil enhances its load-bearing capacity.

Abstract

Pada tanah yang lunak, terdapat dua permasalahan utama yang perlu diperhatikan. Pertama, adalah rendahnya daya dukung tanah. Kedua, adalah tingginya tingkat penurunan tanah. Oleh karena itu, telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai stabilisasi tanah menggunakan abu arang tempurung kepayang. Tanah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari Desa Monkongloe Bulu yang terletak di Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan. Hidrometer, penentuan kadar air, berat jenis, batas-batas Atterberg dan analisis saringan digunakan dalam metodologi penelitian. Unified Soil Classification System (USCS), diikuti dengan uji pemadatan standar Proctor. untuk mencapai nilai kepadatan maksimum dan mengukur daya dukung tanah dengan menambahkan variasi persentase abu arang tempurung kepayang yang berbeda yaitu 2%, 4%, 6% dan 8%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar air rata-rata 35,435% dan berat jenis 2,591, dengan plastisitas tergolong sedang. Tanah USCS termasuk lanau organik dan lempung berlanau organik (OL).
