Abstract

The management of Green Open Space (RTH) in the Universitas Indonesia (UI) urban forest area is crucial for maintaining environmental quality and the balance of urban ecosystems, as regulated in Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2015 on the Spatial Planning of Depok City for 2012–2032. This study uses a juridical- empirical method to analyze the extent to which the implementation of regulations related to RTH complies with the provisions in the regional regulation. Based on regulatory analysis and field observations, despite the clear legal foundation provided by the regulation, its implementation still faces challenges such as land- use changes, weak coordination between institutions, and a lack of public awareness regarding the importance of preserving RTH. Oversight of the regulation’s implementation is also weak, leading to discrepancies between plans and actual outcomes. Therefore, improving supervision, enforcing stricter laws, and fostering collaboration between the government, Universitas Indonesia, and the community are essential to ensure that the management of RTH in the UI urban forest aligns with sustainable spatial planning principles.

Abstract

The environment plays an important role in human life now and in the future. Therefore, various environmental protection efforts are an important concern for stakeholders in Indonesia through regulations or legislation as part of law enforcement and preventive measures including Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning environmental protection and management to the latest regulation, namely Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2023 (Perma Number 1 of 2023). This journal is written using two approaches, namely the regulatory approach (statute approach) and the conceptual approach (conceptual approach) which is supported by secondary data collection techniques through library research, both from books, journals or official websites. This journal shows that the role of Law Number 32 of 2009 is intended as a systematic effort to systematically preserve the environment to prevent environmental pollution and damage, while Perma Number 1 of 2023 is a law that can accommodate various advanced corporate criminal issues related to environmental cases that have just emerged in the early 2020s, including the destruction of coastal and forest ecosystems, pollution to violations of applicable regulations, including errors in the processing of B3 waste which opens up law enforcement, both criminal and civil, more fundamentally, effectively and systematically.

Abstract

In the era of globalization driven by advances in information technology, global society is experiencing a shift from traditional lifestyles to more contemporary lifestyles. Technology, such as television, cell phones, and the internet, has influenced every aspect of our lives, including the way we communicate, work, and interact. Apart from the positive benefits it provides, information technology also brings new challenges, one of which is the spread of radical ideology through social media. In this context, radicalism, which tends to desire total and revolutionary change through extreme action, finds a fertile home on digital platforms. This research uses a qualitative approach by prioritizing a literature study and document analysis. Data was collected from various academic sources relevant to the topic of radicalism in social media, including journal articles, books, research reports, and other publications. In addition, document analysis involves collecting secondary data from various sources, such as security reports, media news, and government publications related to the spread of radicalism through social media. The research results show an increase in the prevalence of radical content on social media by 37% in the last two years. Social media, while providing communication benefits, is also an effective platform for the spread of radical ideology. “Echo chambers” on these platforms amplify individuals' extreme beliefs. Governments and other entities struggle to limit the spread of radical ideologies on digital platforms. Public awareness and education are the keys to overcoming the spread of this extreme ideology.
