Abstract

An analysis of the occurrence of atmospheric lability was carried out when heavy rains occurred in the South Bali region, namely when a flood occurred on December 5 and 6 2021. The purpose of this research was to determine the atmospheric conditions based on weather parameters and atmospheric lability in three areas of South Bali, namely the City Denpasar, Tabanan Regency and Badung Regency. The research data is secondary data including synoptic observation data of rainfall intensity on 5-6 December 2021, ECMWF Reanalysis data, Himawari Satellite imagery data, and upper air observation data (Radiosonde). These data were analyzed based on local weather factors and atmospheric lability. It was found that on December 5, 2021, the air temperature in the atmosphere was relatively high at 14 o'clock. 00 WITA with relative humidity ranging from 82%-88% and relatively low on December 6 at the same hour with relative humidity decreasing to 78%. The wind speed has increased to 12.8 Knots from 5 to 6 December and atmospheric lability has changed by 94.3%. Even so, there is still rain with moderate intensity accompanied by thunderstorms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential risk of thoracic organ cancer in CT Scan examinations using the Size-Specific Effective Dose (SSED) method, considering the importance of accurate radiation dose measurement to minimize the risk of cancer due to radiation exposure. The analysis was conducted on 30 female patients and 30 male patients in the adult category (17 - 45 years) at the Radiology Installation of Prof. Dr. I G. N. G. Ngoerah Hospital, Denpasar, using a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data. The results showed that the Size-Specific Dose Estimate (SSDE) and SSED values in female patients were 6.51 ± 0.70 mGy and 2.95 ± 0.48 mSv, respectively, while in male patients they were 6.38 ± 0.49 mGy and 2.27 ± 0.26 mSv. The risk of cancer in female patients is estimated at 0.016% and in male patients it is 0.012%. The Anova test showed a significant difference between the dose values of the SSDE and SSED methods, which was caused by SSED only considering the dose of organs covered in the CT Scan image. However, the t-test showed that the doses from both methods did not exceed the BAPETEN standard No. 8 of 2011, so that the thoracic CT Scan examination in this Installation is safe and feasible to use.

Abstract

The results of research that have been carried out, especially in the field of medical physics such as X-rays, have been widely utilized in the medical field, especially Radiology Units in Several General and Regional Hospitals. Thus, it is very important to be understood and known by the community, especially the community, in this case the students of SMA Negeri 2 Kuta. In 2022/2023, there are 507 male and 597 female students. Seeing these conditions, surveys and observations were carried out as a result, students had difficulty understanding physics because the physics subject matter was dense, memorized and mathematical. Seeing these results, it is necessary to carry out a new paradigm in physics learning. One of the more appropriate methods is to balance theory learning with field applications such as natural and artificial radiation measurements and applications in the field of medical physics. The results of natural radiation measurements in the classroom and outside the classroom were 0.605 ± 0.0024 and 0.182 ± 0.0008 mSv/year, respectively. The limit of the dosage rate allowed by BAPETEN is 1,000 mSv/year. Natural radiation identified in the classroom and outside the classroom is still declared safe
