Verbal and nonverbal Message in Islamic Broadcasting (da’wa) in YouTube a Study of Thematic Al Qur’an. Da’wa means to share goodness in term of Al Qur’an and hadith. One of da’wa’s purpose is to persuade people to obey Allah Swt. In communication science, message is divided into two forms, verbal (spoken language) and non-verbal (unspoken language, such as: symbols, gestures, facial expression, haptic, distance, etc.). The aim of the research is to explore Islamic perspective about verbal and nonverbal message in the Al Qur’an. Broadcasting da’wa in YouTube, both of the messages complete each other, when the message become viral the impact could be tremendously. As a communicator, da’i have the obligation to show good reputation, able to control his/her behavior and having ability to run his/her word according to Al Qur’an and hadith. Da’wa broadcasting is part of mass communication. The characteristics of mass communication are the messages could be spread widely to heterogenic, anonym and large amount audiences. This research is using qualitative approached through literature review and observation. Once the da’i considered as breaking Islamic rules, the effect could harm Islamic values. Al Qur’an already guide how to control verbal and nonverbal action. The analysis using the concept of verbal and nonverbal aspects form communication and Al Qur’an. Spreading da’wa is the obligation for every moslem, If da’i could not control his/her verbal and non verbal message and understanding the media platform, he/she would not only harming him/her self, but also the religion and ummah which he/she represented.
