Abstract

Social media is currently in demand by many people. Star Radio Tangerang utilizes Instagram social media to promote its broadcast programs so that listeners do not find it difficult to continue listening to their broadcasts. The purpose of this research is to find out the utilization of Instagram social media at Star Radio Tangerang in promoting broadcast programs for its listeners and to find out how the feedback obtained after utilizing Instagram social media. This research uses Social Media theory, using a qualitative approach, and descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews. The results of this study show social media as a medium for socialization between broadcasters and listeners, making it easier for them to access and listen to broadcasts. Social media is proven to be the latest development of new internet-based web development technology, which makes it easier for everyone to communicate, participate, share and form a network online.

Abstract

Messages are one of the elements in the communication system from the source or communicator to the communicant, which, among other things, can be conveyed through news on television. The effectiveness of delivering communication messages in the form of news via television is largely determined by the message packaging strategy. This research aims to determine the communication messages conveyed through the production process in news on TVMu. This research uses Alex Sobur's message delivery theory. Using the case study method, the research explains how the news packaging process is carried out sequentially according to existing procedures. As a result, it is known that the overall news production process on TVMu has conveyed communication messages starting from the pre-production process, production to post-production.

Abstract

Audiences are the main consideration in the production of a TV program, and play a major role in determining the script that will be made. The "Netizen Bertanya Ustad Menjawab" program involves the audience to participate by sending questions in the form of videos which will later be aired during the broadcast. The purpose of this research is to find out the involvement of millennial generation audiences in the "Netizen Bertanya Ustad Menjawab" program and also want to know the stages of production implementation in the "Netizen Bertanya Ustad Menjawab" program. This research uses audience theory, using a qualitative approach, and descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the program "Netizen Bertanya Ustad Menjawab" can be a place to interact with the audience or TVMu viewers so that the audience knows more about religion from the perspective of Muhammadiyah and adjusted by Tarjih Muhammadiyah. The production process of the Netizen Bertanya Ustad Menjawab event program is carried out by tapping or recording, which means it is not broadcast live. By involving the millennial generation audience in the event program, it can be an attraction in itself for the event program because it shows a video of the audience while giving questions submitted to the ustad who is broadcasting at that time.

Abstract

Ahead of the election which will be held in February 2024, television is competing to broadcast various educational talk show programs, especially regarding elections or politics, one of which is TVRI Nasional. Ideally, people choose with their own thoughts and views. However, in reality there are still many people who choose randomly without logical reasons or just go along with it, even worse, they are indifferent to the election. The purpose of this research is to find out what educational messages are contained and how the educational messages contained in "Warung Pengkolan" Episode 03 are viewed from Teun Dijk's discourse analysis. This research uses a qualitative approach with the Van Dijk discourse analysis method, wanting to know messages according to macro structure, superstructure and micro structure. The results obtained are that the messages conveyed in the TVRI "Warung Pengkolan" program are contained in accordance with the macro structure, superstructure and micro structure. In the macro structure, it is to invite, educate and motivate young people or young Indonesian voters who this year have the right to exercise their right to vote and not the white group, because our choice really determines the future of the Indonesian nation. In the superstructure, it is divided into two perspectives, the first perspective is the correct way to choose, namely by looking at the vision and mission and the work program, the second perspective in choosing we have to carry out checks and balances and look at the track record, don't be trapped by the Echo Chamber phenomenon. In the micro structure of delivering education, a speaker or resource person must speak politely and politely and use language that is easy to understand. Because a speaker's words and behavior will determine whether the message can be conveyed clearly to the audience.

Abstract

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, mass media widely disseminate information about presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The registration period, from October 19 to 25, 2023, became a major political event that attracted extensive media attention. Ideally, media outlets should report political events independently, without external influence. However, Sindonews.com shows signs of organizational influence in its coverage of the candidate registration process. This study examines the factors shaping news coverage using the Media Content Hierarchy Theory by Shoemaker & Reese (1996), which identifies five levels of influence: individual, media routines, organizational, extramedia, and ideological. Through a qualitative case study method, employing in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation, the findings reveal that organizational influence is the dominant factor affecting Sindonews.com's reporting. This is largely due to its affiliation with Harry Tanoesoedibjo, who owns Sindonews.com and leads Partai Perindo, a party that supported Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD in the 2024 election. Consequently, the media coverage reflected this political alignment, underscoring how ownership and political affiliations impact journalistic objectivity in Indonesia’s digital news landscape.

Abstract

Gibran Rakabuming Raka's declaration speech as Vice President 2024 should be communicatively easy to understand by the general public, the meaning conveyed must be of quality, but at the time of the declaration as Vice President 2024 Gibran Rakabuming Raka in his speech contained multiple interpretations or difficult to understand by the public. The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of Denotation. Connotations and Myths. Gibran Rakabuming Raka's speech in his declaration as Vice President 2024 on Breaking News Kompas TV. Theories used are Mass Communication, Television, Breaking News, Broadcasting, Semiotics and Semiotics Roland Barthes. The research approach is qualitatively descriptive, with data collection using primary data, secondary data, analysis, interviews and documentation. This study uses Roland Barthes's Semiotic Analysis method, covering 3 meanings namely Denotation. Connotations and Myths. The results obtained in this study Gibran's speech in his declaration as President 2024 on the Breaking News program Kompas TV have three meanings: Denotation: Winning and continuing the old program. Connotations: Gibran is a staunch supporter of Prabowo and a leader with a vision of sustainability. Myth: Solidarity with Prabowo, continuity of leadership and hope of the younger generation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif diskriptif dengan metode yang digunakan studi kasus di ANTV. Teori yang digunakan adalah David Hesmondhalgh dan Sarah Baker dalam buku The Political Economy of Communications. Fokus penelitian adalah aspek ekonomi dan politik dalam media menurut pandangan tradisi budaya. Tujuan penelitian ialah menganalisa dan mengetahui dampak  terjadinya pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) di ANTV. Temuan penelitian adalah, sistem digital yang diinisiasi pemerintah membuat ANTV di beberapa daerah tidak dapat diakses, sehingga banyak pengiklan menarik diri. Akibatnya, pendapatan Perusahaan menurun karena biaya produksi tetap bahkan cenderung tinggi. Untuk mengurangi beban biaya, perusahaan melakukan PHK sekitar 300 karyawan Divisi News. Faktor lain yang membuat terjadinya PHK adalah ANTV tidak siap mengantisipasi sistem digitalisasi, karena besarnya biaya untuk beralih ke sistem digital di tengah kondisi keuangan perusahaan yang kurang baik, serta adanya Pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Media ownership is a discussion that has always existed at any time. It is interesting to discuss because the theory is related to economics and politics. The diversity of perspectives is valuable as a bridge to society in consuming media information. Of course, it should be given freedom of space and access to concrete facts, instead of being confronted with the interests of power through capital owners to regulate the rotation of media issues according to the ruler's goals. The study in this research will discuss the influence of media ownership on the diversity of information and public perspectives in modern Indonesian society. The concentration of media ownership focuses on limiting the diversity of perspectives in a modern society that is instantaneous to obtain information, restrictions for reasons of political and industrial interests, the tendency of media ownership will be seen as domination. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research will analyze data from various sources to identify the impact of concentration of media ownership on access to public information, representation of the interests of various groups, and the role of the media as an information bridge. The results show that the concentration of media ownership creates a less diverse and less representative media ecosystem. This has a negative impact on the quality of democracy and people's ability to make rational decisions. By limiting the diversity of perspectives, concentration of media ownership creates a narrower and less inclusive public sphere.
