Abstract

Lithium-ion electrochemical batteries are being used more in a large number of applications, such as electric vehicles. However, increasing their efficiency lies in the accuracy of their model. For this, extracting the best values of parameters of the battery model is needed. A recent metaheuristic optimizer named the red-tail hawk (RTH) is used in the current research to extract the battery parameters. The idea of this algorithm is extracted from hunting techniques of red-tail hawks. The RTH algorithm is more likely to avoid entangled local optimums because of its high diversity, fast convergence rate, and appropriate exploitation-exploration balance. The RTH optimizer is compared with other algorithms to check and approve its performance. Using the proposed method, the root mean squared error (RMSE) between the model outputs and the measured voltage dataset was decreased to 8.12E-03, much better than all the other considered algorithms.

Abstract

Fossil fuel consumption increased quickly, contributing to climate change that is evident in unusual flooding and draughts, and global warming. Over the past ten years, women's involvement in society has grown dramatically, and they succeeded in playing a noticeable role in reducing climate change. A bibliometric analysis of data from the last ten years has been carried out to examine the role of women in addressing the climate change. The analysis's findings discussed the relevant to the sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 and SDG 13. The results considered contributions made by women in the various sectors while taking geographic dispersion into account. The bibliometric analysis delves into topics including women's leadership in environmental groups, their involvement in policymaking, their contributions to sustainable development projects, and the influence of gender diversity on attempts to mitigate climate change. This study's results highlight how women have influenced policies and actions related to climate change, point out areas of research deficiency and recommendations on how to increase role of the women in addressing the climate change and achieving sustainability. To achieve more successful results, this initiative aims to highlight the significance of gender equality and encourage inclusivity in climate change decision-making processes.

Abstract

A proposed approach for efficient energy management for lithium-ion battery and supercapacitor hybrid energy storage system is outlined in this study. The primary aim is to ensure the electric vehicle receives a stable and high-quality supply of electricity. The suggested management strategy focuses on maintaining the bus voltage at a consistent level while meeting the varying load demands with high-quality power across different scenarios. To achieve this, a management controller is employed, which utilizes a metaheuristics technique to define the parameters of the integral sliding mode control. The supercapacitor units are responsible for controlling the direct current (DC) bus, while the lithium-ion battery plays a role in balancing power distribution on the common line. This study evaluates the potential benefits of integrating salp swarm algorithm techniques into the controller's performance. The findings of the study suggest combining metaheuristic optimization methods with integral sliding mode control. Can lead to improvements in power quality. The proposed management algorithm not only efficiently allocates power resources but also safeguards them, ultimately ensuring a consistent and high-quality power supply for the electric vehicle.

Abstract

This research is conducted to explore the impacts of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) on the human environment during international armed conflicts, aiming to identify trends, challenges, and potential solutions to improve humanitarian aid, decision-making, and conflict resolution strategies. To identify the main research issues about the effects of AI and digitalization on the human environment in conflict situations, this work employs a bibliometric analysis. A bibliometric analysis of the impacts of digitalization and artificial intelligence on the human environment during armed conflicts by examining 544 selected papers from Scopus database has been conducted. Knowledge mapping techniques involving collaboration analysis, co-citation analysis, and keywords co-occurrence analysis methods are adopted in bibliometric analysis. Based on a comprehensive analysis of literature, this work attempts to pinpoint the key areas of interest, knowledge gaps, and new problems in this domain. The findings of this bibliometric analysis contribute to a better understanding of the complex interactions between technology, armed conflicts, and the human environment, with implications for humanitarian action, international law, and conflict resolution efforts. The bibliometric analysis reveals that the United States of America (USA) is by far the leading country in research within this field, with a substantial frequency of 181 documents. It significantly surpasses that of other countries, indicating its dominant position in the research landscape. In sum, the work offers suggestions for further research and policy intervention.
