Abstract

Work-life balance is very important for organizations and individuals. One of the factors that influences work-life balance is job rotation. The aim of this research is to empirically test and analyze the relationship between job rotation and work-life balance. The Work-life balance variable is measured using a Likert scale which is based on dimensions according to Fisher (2009), namely Demands which consists of WIPL (Work Interference with Personal Life), PLIW (Personal Life with Work Interference), and Resources which consists of WEPL (Work Enhancement of Personal Life), PLEW (Personal Life Enhancement of Work). Job rotation variables are measured using a Likert scale which is based on dimensions based on Edwan's (2013) theory, namely experience, knowledge, needs, work performance and responsibility. The population in this study were members of the Central Java Police Mobile Brigade Staff, totaling 140 members, using a saturated sampling technique. The results of this research prove that there is a positive and very significant correlation between work rotation and work-life balance as shown by the correlation value rs = +0.725 (p = 0.000). The work rotation coefficient is 54.7% and the remaining 45.3%. Keywords : Work-life balance, Work Rotation.

Abstract

Career decisions among students are the individual's awareness and need to make career choices, both in choosing majors in general secondary schools and various alternatives related to higher education that are job/occupation oriented. Career guidance is a device, more precisely a systematic program, process, technique, or service in order to help individuals to understand and accept an image of their personal self and an image of the world of work outside themselves, bringing this self-image into harmony with the world of work that ultimately can choose a field of work, enter it and build a career in that field. The hypothesis proposed in this research is that there is a positive relationship between career guidance and career decisions. This research involved 138 respondents who were class XI students at SMK 17 August 1945 Semarang. The non-parametric Spearman-rho correlation test produces a coefficient of +0.293 with a correlation significance level of 0.000, so this research hypothesis is accepted. The career guidance variable has an effective contribution of 7% to the career decision variable for students at SMK 17 August 1945 Semarang. While the remaining 93% is influenced by other factors.
