Abstract

Plankton can be grouped into two, namely phytoplankton and zooplankton. The phytoplankton group is autotrophic so that it acts as a primary producer in the waters. The research location is in Tompobulu Village, Maros Regency. Data collection was taken in June 2024. The temperature at the station based on the measurement results at the station is 28°C, pH value 7.4, total suspended solids value (TSS) 51 mg/l, do (Dissolved oxygen) value 4 mg/l. The data calculated is the index of diversity, uniformity and dominance. Overall findings of this study showed: Diversity index 1,42, uniformity 0,34 and dominance index 0,38 . Plankton sampling stations show that there are 12 species of plankton, namely: Amphora sp, Cocconeis sp, Coscinodiscus sp., Cymbella sp., Gyrosigma sp., Licmophora sp., Navicula sp., Pediastrum sp., Pinnularia sp., Surirella sp. Synedra sp.1, Synedra sp.2. It can be seen from the data above that the highest cell/liter value with a value of 1,130 is Navicula sp. The lowest value of 10 cells/liter is 4 species, namely: Pediastrum sp, Amphora sp, Coscinodiscus sp and Licmophora sp. The conclusion of the study is that the level of plankton diversity in the Tompobulu river is classified as moderate with a value of 1.42, the most abundant species is Navicula sp with a total of 1130 cells/liter. The water condition that affects and does not meet the quality standards is TSS. This parameter is also what affects the condition of the plankton.

Abstract

A study of the mangrove ecosystem, gastropod community structure, and the influence of hydrooceanography at three district station points on Selayar Island was carried out from March to April 2017. This research aims to show mangrove density in various conditions, to reveal the structure of the gastropod community. and the influence of hydrooceanography. This research was analyzed using the Shannon Wiener index variation method and The Principle Component Analysis (PCA). Overall research findings show: 1) mangrove density values at three station points, namely: a) station 1 (0.35); b) station 2; and c) station 3 (0.16); 2) gastropod density values, namely: a) station 1 (3.44); b) station 2 (3.00); c) station 3 (2.81). The highest relative and absolute frequency value of all stations is Littorina Scabra and the lowest is Terrebralia Pallustris. The diversity index value for gastropod species at various stations ranges from 1.00 to 1.45 and the unity index value ranges from 0.25 to 0.31, which is still relatively low. The distribution pattern of gastropods classified as community groups at each station ranged between 2.53-8.53. The results of the Principle Component Analysis show that gastropods at each station are influenced by environmental factors (Hydro Oceanography).

Abstract

The coral fish association is a close ecological relationship between the coral fish community and its environment, namely coral reefs as its main habitat. The reduction in the turtle model skeletal transplantation media is the main attraction for conducting research. This study aims to determine the water quality parameters, diversity index and abundance of individual species. Sampling was carried out in the turtle model skeletal transplantation area using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method. The parameters observed include Salinity, Temperature, pH, Current, Diversity Index and Abundance of individual species. The results of the study showed that the water quality parameter values are in accordance with the established quality standards T.L I (Salinity 32.6 ppt, Temperature 31 ° C, pH 7.7 Current 0.05 m / s), T.L II I (Salinity 32 ppt, Temperature 30.6 ° C, pH 7.5 Current 0.07 m / s). The associated fish species are 9, namely (Petroscirtes mitratus, Meiachanthus grammiste, Chromis viridis, Siganus margaritiferus, Synanceia Verrucosa, Aeoliscus strigatus, Cheilinus chlorourus, Siganus Virgatus, Chrysiptera parasema). T.L I (H¹ = 23.5), (D = 0.58 ind/m²) and T.L II (H¹ = 23) (D = 0.44 ind/m²). The diversity index and abundance of individual species are higher in T.L I, this is influenced by the dry season factor where the waters tend to be clearer and receive higher sunlight intake.
