The collaboration between the local garbage truck driver and the community organization (Ormas) in the city of Depok shows a significant form of social participation in environmental management. The article aims to review this collaboration in a perspective of citizenship and social participation, especially in the context of community involvement in public service. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews techniques and participative observations as methods for data collection. Analysis shows that it is capable of improving waste management efficiency, of strengthening the stakeholder relationship between government and society, and of expanding citizen participation in the process of environmental hygiene
