<![CDATA[Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalsis teori pemerolehan sintaksis seorang anak berusia 5 tahun berdasarkan teori MLU yang dikemukakam oleh Brown. Penelitian yang berjenis kualitatif dekriptif ini menggunakan tiga teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh akan direduksi, disajikan melalui uraian, lalu disimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak berusia 5 tahun sudah mampu menggunakan bahasa sesuai dengan fungsinya sebagaimana yang dikemukakan oleh Halliday. Berdasarkan teori Brown tentang MLU (Mean Lenght of Utterence), subjek yang diteliti berada pada tingkat X yakni memiliki nilai 4,5+ untuk pemerolehan sintaksis. Artinya, penelitian ini juga mengonfirmasi kebenaran dari teori tersebut. Kata kunci : Pemerolehan Sintaksis, Anak, MLU (Meant Lenght Utterence) Abstract. This study aims to analyze the theory of the acquisition of the syntax of a 5 year old child based on the MLU theory found by Brown. This descriptive qualitative research uses three data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained will be reduced, presented through a description, then concluded. The results of the study show that 5-year-old children are able to use language according to their functions as proposed by Halliday. Based on Brown's theory of MLU (Mean Lenght of Utterence), the subject under study is at the X level which has a value of 4.5+ for the acquisition of syntax.
