Abstract

In computer science, a sentence in English canwas approached by two different approaches. The first approach isstructural approach (syntactically approach) and the second approach isapproach to meaning (semantically approach).Structural approach (syntactically approach) is used to checkwhether a sentence to meet the rules of grammar or not (grammatically /syntactical correct). This process is called parsing, the program called the parserand its output in the form of parse tree / derivation tree.Approach to meaning (semantically approach) is used to determinemeaning of a sentence. In this writing, it is done withtranslating English sentences into the Indonesian language .. This processtranslating named, called the translator program and its output formIndonesian sentence. Both the above approaches have in common the use of the Recognizer,a program to recognize words in a sentence along withtype (predicates) connected to a separate database file. Similaritythe other is the use of context free grammars and rules of substitution aslimits.Semantic approach to implement a simple programis the purpose of this writing. Included is foundsimple algorithm for the translation and make programs more efficient andeffective. The use of Visual Basic 6.0 as the programming language makes itbecome more feasible and practical to implement.
