Abstract

ABSTRACT Gadis Berkulit Hitam (Black-skinned girl) is a short story written by author francophone originating from Senegal, a former French colony. Postcolonial discourse is evident in the image of the subaltern and the other is very dominant on the short story of GBH. This short story has two very different place settings, namely Senegal and France, which is identical to Senegal the eastern while France is western. East and west relations are synonymous with the colonized and the colonizers. This short story contains a message about the relationship of the colonizer and the colonized are not balanced both in terms of material and intellectual as well as an overview of the pettiness and delusion lead character in a Western-paced look beautiful, luxurious and think that whiteness is rightness.
