In this paper, a novel partial-state finite-time control scheme is presented for stabilizing chaos in permanent magnet synchronous motor with uncertain parameters. First, a new concept of partial-state finite-time stability is introduced. Based on the cascade-connected system theory, a controller is then designed in detail to improve the performance of the system. The stability of the proposed scheme is verified according to Lyapunov stability. This method is demonstrated to be highly robust again system parametric variations.
