Mobilization in patient with post laparatomy surgery after being given phone alarm socialization

Abstract

Introduction :  Mobilization is important to optimize body’s physiological function. The inhibiting factors of patient who doesn’t less motivation do mobilization are pain of surgery wound, afraid to move the extremity. One effort to improve the mobilization’s need is socialization of phone alarm as a reminder. The aims of this study was to analyze the effect of phone alarm socialization to mobilization in patient with post laparatomy surgery.Method : This study used pre-experiment design through one – shot case study. The samples taken were 14 patients with post laparatomy surgery at Gladiol surgery room in Dr. Soetomo Hospital of Surabaya period December 2013 to January 2014. The independent variable was phone alarm socialization, the dependent variable was mobilization in patients with post laparatomy surgery.Result : Based on this study, the mobilization in patients with post laparotomy surgery after being given phone alarm socialization, they were doing good in 8-24 hours, good enough in 36-48 hours, and less good in 60-72 hours after surgery.Discussion : It can be conclude that phone alarm socilization have effect to the mobilization in patients with post laparatomy surgery. Further research related to  the effect of phone alarm socialization to the mobilization of post laparotomy surgery at rehabilitation ward is needed.
