Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to insulin secretion abnormalities, insulin work or both of them, people with diabetes mellitus will cause various complications, and one of them is osteoarthritis disorders.Method:.The research method used was observational analysis with cross-sectional approach. Sampling was performed with total sampling in patients with diabetes mellitus who had osteoarthritis disorders, with a total sample of 78 people. Long-suffering from diabetes mellitus <5 years with the number of 51 people (65,4.%) and >5 years with 27 people (34,6%). Results:This study showed that patient with long-suffering of diabetes mellitus <5 years toward degree of joint damage in osteoarthritis patients in grade 2 with the number of 28 people (54,9%) and respondents with long-suffering diabetes <5 years of degree of joint damage in osteoarthritis patients in grade 3 with 23 people (45,1%). Respondents who suffer from diabetes >5 years of the incidence of osteoarthritis in grade 2 amounted to 15 people (55,6%) and respondents who suffered from diabetes mellitus >5 years with the frequency of osteoarthritis in grade 3 amounted to 12 people (44,4%). The analysis of the research was conducted using chi-square test.Conclusions:The result of research indicates that there is no significant correlation between long-suffering of diabetes mellitus and degree of joint damage in osteoarthritis (p= 0,956 >0,05).
