The writing of this paper aims to determine the effect of organizational roles and motivation on employee performance. The writing of this paper uses the method of literature review (library research). From the discussion it can be concluded that culture is the implementation of attitudes or a combination of values that are embedded by the company in order to achieve company goals. Organizational culture and employees are important criteria in determining the growth and success of a company. A good organizational culture can improve employee performance. Besides organizational culture, performance is also influenced by employee motivation. Employees who have high motivation in working will provide good work performance, while for employees who have low motivation will not give achievements as well as employees who have high motivation. All of that is reflected through the attitude of employees in dealing with their work, among others, marked by a decrease in morale, quick to feel bored, often absent, late to come and so on which in the end all have an impact on employee performance.
