<![CDATA[ABSTRACT The purpoe of this study was to find out how the process of maintaining records with the encapsulation method as well as any obstacles encountered in the process of maintaining records using the encapsulation method at the archives service and the Bali Provincial Library. The method used in writing this thesis is to use qualitative research methods. The data in this study were obtained through observation and interviews. The informants in this study consisted of two people consisting of the head of the static archive acquisition and procesaing section and the functional archivisit of the archive preservation department of the archives service and the Bali Provincial Library. The results of observation and research interviews show that archival maintenance activities using the encapsulation method have been going well but still have constraints in the process.
