Cancer is one of life threatening diseases.The increased prevalence of cancer will lead to an increased need for cancer therapy which one of them is chemotherapy.Chemotherapy is one of therapy can give to patient with cancer.The handling chemotherapy have of the effect to patient, each one effect is anciety.This anxiety can be overcome by family support. The purpose of study was to determine the relationship between family support with anxiety in a cancer patient who underwent chemotherapy at Urip Sumoharjo Hospital. This research was designed in cross-sectional correlation. The sample was 30 respondents taken based on inclusion criteria by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires and the anxiety from Spielberger.The data were analyzed by chi square statistic test with alternative testfisher’s exact and showed the result that there was no relationship of family support and anxiety with p value 1.0(>0.005). Based on result of this study, nurse are expected to modify the environment to reduce anxiety.
