UJI EFEK AFRODISIAK EKSTRAK ETANOL BUAH PARE (Momordica charantia L.) TERHADAP LIBIDO TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR (Rattus norvegicus) Vini Alvionita Sarapi1), Widdhi Bodhi1), Gayatri Citraningtyas1) 1)Program Studi Farmasi FMIPA UNSRAT Manado, 95115       ABSTRACT   Bitter melon fruit is a plant that used to treat impotence and increased libido but has not been studied scientifically. This research aimed to determine the aphrodisiac effect of ethanol extract bitter melon fruit against libido of male rats and the relationship between extract dose and libido increase in male rats. This research design was experimental laboratory with a completely randomized design. It used 15 male rats so do the female rats. Samples of male rats were divided into 5 groups: K (-) (2 ml distilled water), EEPDose1 (dose extract of 0.035 g / 200 g BW), EEPDose2 (dose extract of 0.07 g / 200 g BW), EEPDosis3 (dose extract of 0.14 g / 200 g BW) and EEPDosis4 (dose extract of 0.28 g / 200 g BW). The research were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test to determine the significant differences among treatments. The results showed the ethanol extract of bitter melon fruit has an aphrodisiac effect against libido male rats and 0.28 g / 200 g BW was the optimal dose, 0.14 g / 200 g BW dose of ethanol extract bitter melon was not significant difference with the negative control.   Keywords: Momordica charantia L., aphrodisiac, libido       ABSTRAK   Buah pare merupakan tanaman yang digunakan dalam mengatasi impotensi, meningkatkan libido dan dalam bidang ginekologi akan tetapi belum diteliti secara ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek afrodisiak ekstrak etanol buah pare terhadap libido tikus jantan dan hubungan antara dosis ekstrak terhadap peningkatan libido tikus jantan. Desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan acak lengkap. Sampel yang digunakan tikus putih jantan galur wistar sebanyak 15 ekor dan tikus putih betina sebanyak 15 ekor untuk melihat aktivitas seksual tikus jantan. Sampel tikus jantan dibagi dalam 5 kelompok : K (-) (aquades 2 ml), EEPDosis1 (ekstrak dosis 0,035 g/200 g BB), EEPDosis2 (ekstrak dosis 0,07 g/200 g BB), EEPDosis3 (ekstrak dosis 0,14 g/200 g BB) dan EEPDosis4 (ekstrak dosis 0,28 g/200 g BB). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan uji Mann-Whitney untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol buah pare memiliki efek afrodisiak terhadap libido tikus dan dosis yang paling optimal adalah 0,28 g/200 g BB. Ekstrak etanol buah pare dosis 0,14 g/200 g BB tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna dengan kontrol negatif.   Kata kunci : Momordica charantia L., afrodisiak, libido.
