<![CDATA[Background: Menstruation is a sign of a woman experiencing growth and puberty. Adolescents who experience menstruation need to maintain personal hygiene and the health of female organs including skin hygiene, mouth, teeth, hair, ears, feet, nails and genitalia. The impact that will occur if not doing menstrual hygiene properly can cause health problems in the reproductive organs, almost 14% of adolescent girls experience vaginal infections and 60% experience vaginal discharge. According to Indonesian data in 2017 from 69.4 million adolescent girls there were 63 million (90.9%) adolescent girls had very poor menstrual hygiene, one of which was poor knowledge of personal hygiene which was one of the factors causing not to perform personal hygiene behavior during menstruation properly. Objectives: This article will explore the factors associated with personal hygiene during menstruation. Methods: The method used in this article is Literature Review. Researchers searched several international and national literatures using Google Scholar, GARUDA and Pubmed databases with the keywords personal hygiene, hygiene, adolescents, menstruation, personal hygiene during menstruation. Results: The results of the review showed that the factors associated with personal hygiene during menstruation are knowledge, the role of parents, belief in myths, sources of information, infrastructure, peers, place of residence and religion. Conclusions: There is a relationship between knowledge, the role of parents, belief in myths, sources of information, infrastructure, peers, place of residence and religion with personal hygiene during menstruation in adolescent girls.]]>
