KELAYAKAN SERIAL ANIMASI SEBAGAI TONTONAN ANAK

Abstract

AbstractAnimated series as a children’s favorite spectacle, not only contain positive values (entertainment,educational, moral and religious teaching), but also contain negative values (violence,pornography). As a matter of fact, the children's world is a world that always mimics what is seenand watched. Animated series containing negative values would negatively influence the growingchildren. Animated series used as research materials are some of the animated series that arebroadcasted on television stations in Indonesia. This study applies structuralism approach whichobserves aspects that construct the animated series. This study aims to assess the feasibility of theanimated series broadcasted on television stations as the spectacle of children. They are obtainedby describing the characters, as well as by assessing the positive and negative values contained inthe animated series. Descriptions are obtained by observing listening, understanding, and parsingthem one by one. The result shows that there are some of the animated series broadcasted ontelevision are worth watching for children and some other animated series are not worth watchingfor children. AbstrakSerial animasi sebagai tontonan kegemaran anak-anak, selain mengandung nilai-nilaipositif (hiburan, pendidikan, pengajaran moral dan agama), ternyata juga mengandung nilai-nilainegatif (kekerasan, pornografi dan pornoaksi). Sementara dunia anak-anak adalah dunia yangselalu meniru apa yang dilihat dan ditontonnya. Serial animasi yang mengandung nilai-nilai negatiftentu akan memberikan dampak buruk bagi perkembangan anak. Serial animasi yang dijadikansebagai bahan penelitian adalah beberapa serial animasi yang ditayangkan di stasiun televisinusantara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan strukturalisme, yakni mengkaji aspek yangmembangun serial animasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kelayakan serial animasi yangditayangkan di stasiun televisi sebagai tontonan anak-anak. Hal ini diperoleh denganmendeskripsikan karakter tokoh, serta mengkaji nilai-nilai positif dan nilai-nilai negatif yangterdapat di dalam serial animasi. Deskripsi diperoleh dengan mengamati menyimak, memahami,dan menguraikannya satu persatu. Hasilnya menunjukkan ada beberapa dari serial animasi yangtayang di televisi yang layak ditonton anak-anak dan ada beberapa serial animasi yang tidak layakditonton anak-anak.
