Abstract

ABSTRAK PEMETAAN SEBARAN SUBSTRAT SEDIMEN DASAR PERAIRAN PESISIR DI SEMENANJUNG MURIA, KABUPATEN JEPARA. Kawasan pesisir Semenanjung Muria telah dilakukan studi untuk pemilihan lokasi pembangkit listrik, salah satunya adalah rencana pembangunan PLTN. Sehubungan dengan hal itu, studi terhadap sebaran substrat sedimen permukaan dasar di perairan tersebut perlu dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ukuran butir sedimen permukaan dasar di perairan pesisir Semenanjung Muria. Ukuran butir sedimen dan karakteristiknya akan bermanfaat dalam desain sistem pendingin PLTN. Metode penelitian dengan pengambilan sampel dan analisis laboratorium untuk penentuan besar ukuran butir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sedimen yang terdistribusi di perairan Semenanjung Muria didominasi oleh ukuran butir kecil yaitu dalam kelompok lanau (silt). Pola akumulasi sedimen dasar di perairan Semenanjung Muria mempunyai pola sejajar dengan garis pantai. Sebaran substrat sedimen sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi fisik perairan, salah satunya adalah kondisi arus dan gelombang. Muria Peninsula coastal area has been conducted to study the development of the power station, one of which is a plan to build Nuclear Power Plants (NPP). In this connection, the study of sediment substrate bottom surface water distribution needs to be done. The purpose of this study was to determine the grain size of the sediment surface in coastal at Muria Peninsula. Sediment grain size and characteristics will be useful in the design of NPP cooling system Research methods with sampling and laboratory analysis for the determination of grain size of sediment. The results showed that the sediments are distributed in water is dominated small grain size in the silt. The pattern of accumulation of sediments in the Muria Peninsula waters have a pattern parallel to the coastline. Distribution of sediment substrate is strongly influenced by the physical condition of the water, one of which is a condition of current or wave. Keywords: Coastal, NPP, sediment
