Abstract

ABSTRAK STUDI AWAL PLTN DI SUMATERA. Saat ini pertumbuhan permintaan kapasitas daya listrik di wilayah Sumatera sekitar 11.3% per tahun. Dengan kondisi sistem kelistrikan saat ini menyebabkan pemadaman listrik secara bergilir yang hampir teijadi setiap hari di seluruh wilayah. Penambahan kapasitas dengan pembangkit berskala kecil, pertumbuhan permintaan di wilayah ini sulit terpenuhi. Sedangkan fasilitas pembangkitan yang selama ini menggunakan bahan bakar minyak sudah tidak layak dioperasikan karena menimbulkan beban subsidi yang sangat tinggi. Dengan kondisi demikian di masa mendatang Pulau Sumatra membutuhkan kapasitas tambahan dalam unit-unit berskala besar yang peluang terbesar dimungkin dengan PLTN. Kata kunci: Kondisi kelistrikan Sumatera, defisit daya, PLTN di Sumatera.   ABSTRACT In this time demand growth of electricity generation capacities on Sumatra region is about 11.3% per year. That condition cause power off by have innings which almost happened every day in all region. Addition of capacities with small scale generating, the demand growth in this region is difficult to meet. While generating facilities which until now use oil fuel have is not feasible to operate because the generating cause very high subsidy burden. With that way condition of Sumatra Island additional demand of capacities in large scale units which is possible biggest opportunity by Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) in the next period.
