Abstract

ABSTRAK STUDI POTENSI PENINGKATAN PAPARAN UNSUR RADIOAKTIF ALAM AKIBAT PEMBAKARAN BATUBARA. Studi ini merupakan hasil kajian yang memberikan gambaran potensi masalah secara umum mengenai limbah radioaktif alam hasil pembakaran batubara. Pada kenyataannya pembakaran batubara adalah merupakan satu sumber paparan radiasi yang disebut konsentrat radioaktif alam (TENORM) karena batubara merupakan material bumi yang mengandung konsentrasi rendah Uranium-238, Thorium-232, dan anak luruhnya serta Kalium-40. Pencemaran radioaktif alam tersebut akan tersebar di lingkungan dan berpotensi meningkatkan paparan radiasi. Tingkat kontaminasi radionuklida terhadap lingkungan tergantung asal usul batubara tersebut.   ABSTRACT THE STUDI OF POTENTIALLY INCREASING THE NATURALLY OCCURING RADIOACTIVE EXPOSURE FROM THE COAL COMBUSTION. This paper is the result of assessment will discuss potential issues of coal combustion results. The fact that coal combustion throughout the world are the major sources of radioactive materials released to the environment has several implications. It's an actual fact that burning of coal is one source of radiation exposure to naturally occurring radioactive materials (TENORM) wastes because coal as most earth materials contains low concentrations of Uranium-238, Thorium-232 and their radioactive progeny and Kalium-40. The degree of radionuclide contamination of the environment depends on the original matter of coal seams.
