The majority of children died from diarrhea each year. Diarrhea is more common in children under five years age group. In developing countries such as Indonesia, diarrhea is also one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hand washing and disposal of faeces with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five years old. The method using case-control design with a total sample of 84 people for the case group and the control group were 84 people. The instrument used to obtain the data by using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyzes. The results o/‘multivariate analysis that the variables associated with the incidence of acute diarrhea in children under five years old was Washing hands before touching food (OR = 2.085, p = 0.013) to Wash hands after cleaning/cleaning a child (OR = 2.847, p = 0.0] 7), excreta disposal site child (OR = 4.679,p = 0.020))The conclusion that Wash your hands with water and soap after defecating, washing hands with soap and water before touching food, wash hands with soap and Water after cleaning / cleaning a child, boil water before consumption, and disposal of excreta child is a risk factor acute diarrhea in infantsKeywords: Wash hands, acute diarrhea, Toddler
