Terapi Bicara Pasca Laringektomi Total Azwar dan Dewi Prahaztuti

Abstrak. Laring merupakan bagian terbawah dari saluran nafas bagian atas. Laring berfungsi sebagai organ fonasi, respirasi, proteksi, sirkulasi, menelan, dan emosi. Laringektomi (tindakan pembedahan pada kanker laring) adalah tindakan pengangkatan laring dan pemisahan saluran nafas dari hidung,mulut,  dan esofagus. Pasca laringektomi pasien bernafas melalui satu lubang pada leher yaitu stoma. Tindakan laringektomi menyebabkan cacat pada pasien. Pengangkatan laring beserta pita suara yang ada di dalamnya, maka pasien akan menjadi afonia dan bernapas melalui stoma permanen di leher. Untuk itu diperlukan rehabilitasi agar pasien dapat bermasyarakat dan mandiri kembali, maupun rehabilitasi suara (voice rehabilitation) agar pasien dapat berbicara (bersuara), sehingga mampu berkomunikasi secara  verbal. Kemampuan bicara, dapat diperoleh dengan terapi bicara esophagus (oesophageal speech), alat bantu elektrolaring (electrolarynx), atau shunt antara trakea dan esofagus (tracheo-oesophageal puncture).  Kata kunci : Laryngectomy, terapi bicara, terapi bicara esophagus, alat bantu elektrolaring , TEP Abstract. Larynx is the lowest part of the upper respiratory tract. Laryngeal function as an organ fonasi, respiration, protection, circulation, swallowing, and emotion. Laringektomi (surgery in laryngeal cancer) is the act of removal of the larynx and separation of the respiratory tract from the nose, mouth and esophagus. Post laringektomi patient breathes through a hole in the neck of the stoma. Laringektomi actions cause defects in patients. Appointment of the larynx and vocal cords in it, then the patient will be afonia and breathe through a permanent stoma in the neck. For that needed rehabilitation for patients to community and self-return, and rehabilitation of the voice for patients to speak , so as to communicate verbally. The ability to speak, can be obtained with esophageal speech therapy (oesophageal speech), a tool elektrolaring (electrolarynx), or shunt between the trachea and esophagus (tracheo-oesophageal puncture).
