ANALISIS BOD (BIOLOGICAL OXYGEN DEMAND) DI PERAIRAN DESA PRANCAK KECAMATAN SEPULU, BANGKALAN

Abstract

ABSTRAKBiological Oxygen Demand (BOD) merupakan kuantitas oksigen terlarut yang dibutuhkan untuk mengurai bahan organik yang terdapat di dalam air secara sempurna dengan menggunakan ukuran proses biologi dan kimia yang terjadi di perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan oksigen biologis (Biological Oxygen Demand) di Perairan Desa Prancak Kecamatan Sepulu, Bangkalan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada dua stasiun yang berbeda. Pengukuran parameter kualitas perairan, antara lain: DO, suhu, salinitas, pH dan kecerahan. Nilai BOD yang dinyatakan dalam milligram per liter (mg/l) merupakan selisih kandungan oksigen terlarut awal dan oksigen terlarut akhir (DOi - DO5). Pengukuran nilai oksigen terlarut dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat yang disebut DO meter atau secara analitik dengan cara titrasi (metode winkler, iodometri). Perairan Desa Prancak Kecamatan Sepulu, Bangkalan merupakan perairan yang tercemar karena memiliki kandungan BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) pada stasiun 1 dengan rata-rata sebesar 8,46 mg/l dan nilai BOD di stasiun 2 sebesar 18,48 mg/l.Kata Kunci: BOD, DO, metode winkler, Desa PrancakABSTRACTBiological Oxygen Demand (BOD) is the quantity of dissolved oxygen needed to completely break down organic matter in water by using biological and chemical processes that occur in the water. This study aims to determine Biological Oxygen Demand in the waters of the Prancak Village, Sepulu Subdistrict, Bangkalan. Sampling was carried out at two different stations. Measurement of water quality parameters, including: DO, temperature, salinity, pH and brightness. The BOD value expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/l) is the difference between the initial dissolved oxygen and the final dissolved oxygen (DOi - DO5). Measuring dissolved oxygen can be done using a device called DO meter or analytically by titration (winkler, iodometry). The waters of Prancak Village, Sepulu Subdistrict, Bangkalan are polluted waters because they have BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) content at station 1 with an average of 8.46 mg/l and BOD value at station 2 is 18.48 mg/l.Keywords: BOD, DO, winkler method, Prancak Village
