Futurs étudiants marocains en première année universitaire des filières scientifiques : quels besoins langagiers et quelles compétences à acquérir ?

RÉSUMÉ. L’objectif de cette étude était de mener une analyse des besoins langagiers (ABL) dont les résultats constitueraient une base pour l’élaboration d’une formation en Français sur Objectifs Universitaires (FOU) pour les apprenants du secondaire des branches scientifiques. Cette ABL a été menée dans une faculté de sciences marocaine pour identifier les tâches langagières cibles ainsi que les compétences linguistiques et communicatives requises aux étudiants inscrits en première année. Pour ce faire, la littérature sur l’ABL a été revue ; ensuite, une enquête par entretiens semi-directifs, questionnaires et observation a été menée in situ. En ce qui concerne les sources, un échantillon d’étudiants inscrits en première année et de professeurs de disciplines non linguistiques ont été inclus en tant qu'experts du contexte-cible. Suite à cette enquête, vingt tâches langagières cibles ont été identifiées comme étant requises à tout étudiant inscrit en première année universitaire dans une filière scientifique. Les résultats de cette étude nous ont fourni une base solide et des implications précieuses pour la suite de notre projet.Mots-clés : Analyse des besoins, besoins langagiers, Français sur Objectifs Universitaires, tâches langagières.ABSTRACT. The objective of this article is to report on Needs Assessment whose results were used as a basis for the development of a training in French for University Purpose (FUP). The training, which is part of an action research, targets future Moroccan students enrolled in the first year of science faculties. This NA was conducted in the Dhar El Mehraz Faculty of Sciences in Fez (Morocco) to identify the language tasks as well as the language skills required for any student enrolled in the first year. To do this, the NA literature was reviewed and a survey by semi-structured interviews, questionnaires and observation was carried out. Regarding sources, first-year students and teachers of disciplinary subjects were our two groups of informants. Following this survey, twenty language tasks were identified as being required for a first-year student. The outcomes of this study have provided us with a solid foundation and valuable implications for the continuation of our action research.Keywords: language tasks, French for University Purpose, Needs Assessment, needs.
