In this classroom action research the writer can raise the following problems: "Can the Problem Based Learning model improve the science learning outcomes of Class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bondowoso in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year? This type of research is a classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings, carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Bondowoso. The subjects in this study were students of class VII.C semester II of the science subject. The research design used Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Data collection methods in this study used tests, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The average percentage of learning completeness before the action (51.43%,), in the first cycle the average percentage of learning completeness (68.57%,) and after doing the second cycle or the last cycle the average percentage of learning completeness (82.86%). This proves that the use of a problem-based learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science lessons.
