Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1). To find out students' learning activities in designing party clothes through the assignment method. 2) To improve the skills of designing party clothes (dresses) in class XI Clothing 1 at Vocational High School 2 Bondowoso. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach because this research is in accordance with the characteristics of qualitative research (Sudjana, 2004), namely: (a) using the natural environment as a direct data source, (b) analytic descriptive in nature, (c) research pressure there is in the process not the result, (d) is inductive, (e) prioritizes meaning. The data collection procedure was carried out by giving tests to students before the action was taken (pre-test) and after the action was carried out. The data analysis techniques used in this study were two data analysis techniques, namely quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The method of giving assignments can improve the skills of designing party clothes for class XI Clothing 1 grade students of Vocational High School 2 Bondowoso in the genp semester of the 2017/2018 school year. This can be seen from 1). Completeness of learning. In the pre-cycle, the results of the skills in designing clothing were 51.72%, in the first cycle it increased to 68.97%, and in the second cycle it became 93.10%. 2). 2). Absorption capacity, in the pre-cycle the amount of student absorption was 68.45%, in the first cycle it increased to 76.52% and in the second cycle it became 87.37%
