<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Secara teoritis, keputusan petani untuk mengembangkan komoditi tertentu didasarkan atas pertimbangan harga input, output dan iklim. Untuk mengetahui apakah variabel-variabel tersebut berespon terhadap areal pengembangan dan produktivitas kedelai di Nusa Tenggara Barat telah dilakukan penelitian dengan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa harga kedelai tahun sebelumnya dan besarnya curah hujan bulanan berespon secara nyata terhadap luas areal pengembangan kedelai. Sementara terhadap produktivitas hanya curah hujan bulanan yang berespon secara nyata. Oleh karena itu, untuk memacu pertumbuhan produksi kedelai melalui program perluasan areal maka kebijakan insentif harga kepada petani seyogyanya mendapat perhatian serius. ABSTRACT Theoritically, farmers decision to cultivate certain commodity is based on the consideration of input-output price and climate. To understand whether those variables have significant respons to the size of cultivation area and productivity of soybean in West Nusa Tenggara, this research was designed under descriptive method. The result shows that the soybean price per year recent monthly rainfall significantly were related to the size of soybean cultivation area. On the other hand, only monthly rainfall related to productivity. Therefore, to stimulate the improvement of soybean production through exetended areal program, the implementation of price incentive policy to the farmers should be concerned by goverment seriously.]]>
