<![CDATA[Patient with chronic kidney disease should undergo hemodialysis therapy to maintain their quality of life however they still have to face with various complications both physical and psychosocial. Adaptation-based interventions and guided imagery have been widely used to overcome various problems experienced by hemodialysis patients. This study used a case study method to see the effectiveness of adaptation-based interventions and guided imagery in tackling the various symptoms experienced by hemodialysis patients. After 30 days of intervention, there was decreased in anxiety, increase sleep quality, decrease blood pressure and increased self management in hemodyalisis patient, however there was no significantly change in the adequacy of hemodialysis patients. Adaptation-based and guided imagery-based interventions can be recommended to be applied in implementation of nursing care in the hemodialysis unit to improve the quality of life for hemodialysis patients Keywords: adaptation; end stage renal disease; hemodialysis; guided imagery; Roy adaptation model ABSTRAK Pasien gagal ginjal kronik harus menjalani terapi hemodialisis untuk mempertahankan kualitas hidup tetapi mereka juga harus menghadapi berbagai komplikasi fisik maupun psikososial. Intervensi berbasis adaptasi dan guided imagery merupakan intervensi yang telah banyak digunakan untuk mengatasi berbagai permasalahan yang dialami pasien hemodialisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kasus untuk melihat efektivitas intervensi berbasis adaptasi dan guided imagery dalam menangani berbagai gejala yang dialami pasien hemodialisis. Setelah pemberian intervensi selama 30 hari terjadi penuruanan tingkat kecemasan, peningkatan kualitas tidur, penurunan tekanan darah dan peningkatan self management pasien hemodialisis, tetapi tidak terjadi perubahan terhadap adekuasi pasien hemodialisis. Intervensi berbasis adaptasi dan guided imagery dapat direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan dalam pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan di unit hemodialisis untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien hemodialisis.
