Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of the novel Hipernova by Fariza Auliya Jasmine. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis by using five semiological codes from Roland Barthes. The results of the study found that the meaning of this novel provides an understanding of spirituality on the religious experience of the main character (pure white and has long stopped trusting God) in understanding the principles of life that come from God. Therefore, Religion is a journey of self spirituality and not a mere inheritance. The main character of the Novel, Novae is able to change the view that religion is not always seen as an absolute assessment of our behavior.
