HUBUNGAN KEPERCAYAAN DIRI DENGAN PENYESUAIAN DIRI PADA MAHASISWA BARU DI PROGRAM STUDI ILMU KEPERAWATAN FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SAM RATULANGI MANADO

Self confidence is one's beliefs on all aspects of its strengths and convictions that make a person feels able to achieve various goals in life. The aim of this study was to know the correlation between self-confidence with self-adjustment of new students at Nurse Study Program, Medical Faculty, University of Sam Ratulangi, Manado. The research method used was cross sectional study. The samples were 79 respondents of the second semester. By systematic random sampling, 30 individuals were selected as research respondents. Method of data collection was used questionnaire with a Likert scale and the data were analyzed using Chi-square using statistic program of computers. Results showed that based on the Chi-square statistical test, value ρ = 0,027. Thus, the p-value was smaller than α (0,05). This means that the Ha failed to be rejected and Ho failed to be accepted. Conclusion of this study is that there is a significant correlation between self-confidence and self-adjustment of the new students. Recomendations, new students are advised to receive a variety of conditions and activities and also traditions of the campus and for the next researchers to be able to expand the research aspects. Keyword : self-confidence, self-adjustment Rasa percaya diri merupakan keyakinan seseorang terhadap segala aspek kelebihan yang dimilikinya dan keyakinan tersebut membuatnya merasa mampu untuk bisa mencapai berbagai tujuan di dalam hidupnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepercayaaan diri dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru di PSIK FK UNSRAT Manado. Metode penelitian yang dipakai cross sectional. Populasi adalah mahasiswa Semester 2 sebanyak 79 orang. Dengan systematic random sampling 30 orang terpilih sebagai responden penelitian. Uji Statistik datanya menggunakan uji statistik chi Square dengan bantuan program Statistik Komputer. Hasil penelitian dari hasil uji statistik chi Square diperoleh nilai ρ = 0,027. Berarti bahwa nilai p lebih kecil dari α=(0,05) dan dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa Ha gagal ditolak dan Ho gagal diterima. Kesimpulannya Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kepercayaan diri dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru. Saran bagi mahasiswa baru agar dapat menerima keadaan kampus dengan berbagai kondisi dan kegiatan serta tradisi kampus dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk memperluas aspek-aspek penelitian.
