<![CDATA[Hierarchically, hadith is the source of the second law after the Holy Quran because it serves as al-bayan (explanatory) to the laws contained in the Holy Quran. In understanding hadith, one must know the condition of sanad and matan. Except, it must also know the circumstances that were happening when the hadith was issued (background), and then also need to know about the properties of hadith, whether universal, temporal or local. All that is needed to get a proper understanding of the hadith. One of the Indonesian scholars who always analyze the function of the prophet is M. Syuhudi Ismail in his book Hadis Nabi yang Tekstual dan Kontekstual: Telaah Ma’ani al-Hadits tentang Ajaran Islam yang Universal, Temporal dan Lokal. In this case, I see there are some hadiths that are less precise with the analysis of M. Syuhudi Ismail's context, such as women's issues regarding becoming head of state or President. Therefore I want to criticize it contextually. Secara hierarkis, hadis merupakan sumber hukum kedua setelah Al-Qur'an karena berfungsi sebagai al-bayan (penjelas) terhadap hukum-hukum yang terkandung dalam Al-Qur'an. Dalam memahami hadits, harus diketahui kondisi sanad dan matan, selain itu juga harus dipahami keadaan yang terjadi pada saat hadits itu disabdakan, perlu juga mengetahui sifat-sifat hadis, baik yang bersifat universal, temporal maupun lokal. Semua itu diperlukan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang benar tentang hadis. Salah satu ulama Indonesia yang selalu mengkaji fungsi Nabi adalah M. Syuhudi Ismail dalam bukunya Hadis Nabi yang Tekstual dan Kontekstual: Telaah Ma’ani al-Hadits tentang Ajaran Islam yang Universal, Temporal dan Lokal. Dalam hal ini penulis melihat ada beberapa hadis yang kurang tepat dengan analisis kontekstual M. Syuhudi Ismail, seperti isu perempuan menjadi kepala negara atau Presiden. Oleh karena itu penulis ingin melakukan kritik terhadap persoalan tersebut.]]>
