Pendahuluan Konseling, informasi, dan edukasi (KIE) adalah salah satu pilar utama dalam pelayanan antenatal. Bidan sebagai pendidik dan penyedia pelayanan kesehatan, hendaknya dapat melaksanakan KIE dengan kualitas baik. Tingkat pendidikan, masa kerja, dan pelatihan bidan ditemukan sangat mempengaruhi kualitas KIE. Metode Penelitian pada 208 bidan dengan metode cluster random sampling dari seluruh puskesmas di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Data pendidikan, masa kerja, dan pelatihan dikumpulkan. Kualitas KIE dinilai menggunakan kuesioner yang telah divalidasi. Data ditabulasi dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 17. Hasil Ada hubungan signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan (p<0.001) dan pelatihan (p=0.006) terhadap kualitas KIE. Tidak ditemukan hubungan antara masa kerja dengan kualitas KIE. Simpulan Penelitian ini menunjukkan pengaruh pendidikan dan pelatihan bidan terhadap kualitas KIE. Para bidan disarankan melanjutkan pendidikan atau mengikuti pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kualitas praktik klinis sehari-hari.Introduction Counseling, information, and education is the main pillars in antenatal care. Midwives, as an educator and healthcarer, should be able to provide a good quality of counselling. Education level, work experience, and training affect the quality of counselling. Methods This cross sectional study involved 208 midwives, taken by cluster random sampling from all primary health care centers in Central Aceh district. Data on education, employment, and training were collected. Quality of counselling was assessed using a validated questionnaire developed by the author. Data were tabulated and analyzed using SPSS 17. Discussion This study showed significant association between education level (p <0.001) and training (p = 0.006) with the counselling quality. No association between work experience and counselling quality. Conclusion There is an association between education level and training on the counselling quality.
