Pedoman tatalaksana asma saat ini menyatakan kortikosteroid sebagai terapi lini pertama untuk mengontrol penyakit. Namun, kortikosteroid memiliki banyak efek samping. Berdasarkan patofisiologi asma yang beragam, beberapa obat lain dapat digunakan untuk mengontrol asma, salah satunya adalah montelukast yang termasuk golongan Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist (LTRA).Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease with airway obstruction as the main symptom, caused by inflammation responses. Asthma management guidelines state that corticosteroid is the mainstay therapy for asthma. But, corticosteroid has many side effects. Based on the patophysiology of asthma, other drugs can be used to control asthma, one of them is montelukast which belongs to leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) group.]]>
