<![CDATA[AbstrakSuku Biak sebagai salah satu suku pelaut di Nusantara memiliki pengaruh yang luar biasa dalam pembentukan karakter masyarakat Papua pada umumnya. Pengaruh tersebut terlihat pada proses pengintegrasian Papua (dulu Irian Barat) ke NKRI. Proses itu berangkat dari sejarah nenek moyang suku Biak yang cenderung bercorak maritim. Kebudayaan maritim yang dimiliki oleh nenek moyang suku Biak merupakan perekat dengan suku-suku lain di Nusantara, sehingga dari proses interaksi itu menghasilkan suatu ikatan korelatif dan kausatif yang kuat antara suku Biak dengan suku-suku lain di Nusantara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengangkat budaya suku Biak yang bercorak maritim dan penguatan integrasi nasional sebagai hubungan persaudaraan dalam bingkai Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI).Kata Kunci : Suku Biak, Budaya Maritim, dan Integrasi NasionalAbstractThe Biak tribe as one of the seafaring tribes in the archipelago has a tremendous influence in shaping the character of the Papuan people in general. This influence can be seen in the process of integrating Papua (formerly West Irian) into the Republic of Indonesia. The process departed from the history of the Biak tribe's ancestors who tended to be maritime. The maritime culture possessed by the ancestors of the Biak tribe is the glue with other tribes in the archipelago, so that the interaction process produces a strong correlative and causative bond between the Biak tribe and other tribes in the archipelago.
