Berdasarkan literature beberapa kesulitan yang dialami siswa pada materi aljabar disebabkan oleh kurangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, kurangnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa sehingga mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa model pembelajaran inquiri dapat meminimalisir kesulitan-kesulitan belajar matematika siswa. Model pembelajaran inquiri dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, kemampuan penalaran matematis, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa .
