Background of study : Exclusive breastfeeding is a threat if the baby is not exclusively breastfed because the baby will be more susceptible to infection. The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding by breastfeeding mothers is influenced by several factors such as knowledge and attitudes of mothers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 6-12 months at Pangarengan Health Center. Methods : This research was a quantitative analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all mothers who had babies aged 6-12 months at the Pangarengan Health Center as many as 451 populations. The sample of this research were mothers who have babies aged 6-12 months at Pangarengan Health Center totaling 82 respondents. The data collection technique used was cluster random sampling. Data analysis using Chi Square test. Results : The results of this study were many mothers with less knowledge and did not give exclusive breastfeeding (91.2%), the significance test value was 0.000 which was lower than the standard = 0.05, it means that there was a relationship between knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding. For mothers with negative attitudes and did not give exclusive breastfeeding (90.5%), the significance value was 0.001 which was lower than the standard = 0.05, it means that there was a relationship between mother's attitude and exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion : The conclusion of this study showed that knowledge and attitudes of mothers have a significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 6-12 months. It was hoped that mothers will continue to explore information and be active in participating in counseling about exclusive breastfeeding. Keywords : Knowledge, Attitude, Exclusive breastfeeding
