<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the critical discourse analysis of the news about the death of Taruna high school students published by news.okezeone.com. In this study, all microstructural, mesostructural and macrostructural aspects were examined which were developed to produce news texts. This study uses an online news entitled "Tewas saat MOS, Siswa SMA Taruna Palembang Dipukuli Pembina Pakai Bambu " published on July 16, 2019 online. This research uses the critical discourse analysis model from Teun A. Van Dijk. The results showed that news.okezone.com practiced diction selection, the use of broad sentences of causation, and the selection of sources in direct quotations to produce news texts. There is motivation in the production of the news text, namely that readers are led to provide a positive image on news.okezone.com as an active and existing media in voicing justice.]]>
