The Impact of Student Mental Health on Online Lectures during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

AbstractObjective: This study aims to explore the impact of online learning on mental health of public health students at the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik.Method: this study used a qualitative exploratory method. The data collection technique is conducting in-depth interviews with several key informants using the in-depth interview form. The sampling technique used in this qualitative research is purposive sampling with representatives of each generation. This research was conducted on public health students at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik.Results: This study resulted that COVID-19 had a major impact on the mental health of students in online lectures. The factors that affect students' mental health towards online lectures that have arisen due to the COVID-19 pandemic include: emotional changes, stress, and eye fatigue. The impact caused by COVID-19 on changes that occur suddenly, makes students mentally disturbed.Conclusion: online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic have an impact on several aspects of student mental health.Keywords: Impact of COVID-19, mental health, online lectures  AbstrakLatar belakang: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak pembelajaran daring terhadap mental health pada mahasiswa kesehatan masyarakat di Universitas Muhammadiyah GresikMetode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap beberapa informan kunci dengan menggunakan form in depth interview. Teknik sampling yang dilakukan pada penelitian kualitatif ini adalah dengan purposive sampling yaitu  perwakilan setiap angkatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa kesehatan masyarakat universitas muhammadiyah gresikHasil: Penelitian ini menghasilkan bahwa COVID-19 membawa dampak besar bagi kesehatan mental mahasiswa terhadap perkuliahan daring. Adapun faktor yang mempengaruhi kesehatan mental mahasiswa terhadap perkuliahan daring yang muncul akibat pandemi COVID-19 antara lain: yaitu perubahan  emosi, stress, dan kelelahan pada mata. Dampak yang diakibatkan COVID-19 pada perubahan yang terjadi secara tiba-tiba, membuat mental mahasiswa terganggu.Simpulan: perkuliahan daring di masa pandemi COVID-19 membawa dampak pada beberapa aspek kesehatan mental mahasiswa.Kata kunci: Dampak COVID-19, kesehatan mental, perkuliahan daring
