<![CDATA[Di dalam suatu karya sastra, khususnya novel, terdapat konflik yang terjadi dan dihadapi oleh tokohyang terlibat di dalam karya tersebut. Konflik yang muncul akan mendorong dan menggerakkan individu untuk melakukan respons.Bentukrespons yang ditampilkan oleh tokoh tentu berbeda-beda (respons individu normal dan respons individu neurotik). Perbedaan cara tokoh merespons dipengaruhi oleh kepribadian tokoh tersebut.Pertautan konflik dan respons neurotik menjadi objek yang dikaji pada penelitian ini dan diungkap berdasarkan teori kebutuhan neurotik yang dikemukakan oleh Karen Horney, sebab respons dan kepribadian neurotik relevan dengan teori psikoanalisis Karen Horney.Setelah penelitian dilakukan, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: (1) tokoh Nunuk dan Budimanmenampilkan representasi kehidupan sosial meliputikehidupan ekonomi, kehidupan budaya, dan kehidupan politik; (2) Nunuk memiliki 4 kebutuhan neurotik dan Budiman memiliki 2 kebutuhan neurotik. Keduanya menampilkan respons neurotik sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang dimiliki.In a literary works, especially novel, there is a conflic and faced by the figure itself in that literary works. Conflicts that arise will encourage and make the figures do some responses. The respons that shown by the figures is different (normal individual responses and neurotic individual responses). The different ways of responding are affected by the personality of the figure itself. A converegence of conflict and neurotic responses be the object in this research and revelaed based on the theory of neurotic needs by Karen Horney, because responses and neurotic personality relevant to the psychoanalytic theory of Karen Horney. The resultan of this research are 1) the characters of Nunuk and Budiman represent a social life that include the economic, culture, and politic. 2) Nunuk has 4 neurotic needs and Budiman has 2 neurotic needs. Both of them represent neurotic responses according to requirement itself.]]>
