Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan pola argumentasi Toulmin pada buku ajar kimia SMA kelas X semester II kurikulum 2013 yang digunakan di sekolah. Objek pada penelitian ini yaitu pola argumentasi Toulmin yang terdapat dalam buku ajar kimia. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah studi dokumen. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah buku ajar kimia SMA kelas X semester II kurikulum 2013 yang digunakan di sekolah mengandung sebanyak 35,8% argumen dan sebanyak 64,2% bukan argumen. Pola-pola argumentasi Toulmin yang diperoleh dalam penyajian materi pada buku ajar kimia SMA kelas X semester II kurikulum 2013 yang digunakan di sekolah yaitu ground-claim (G-C) sebanyak 23,6%, ground-warrant-claim (G-W-C) sebanyak 3,8%, ground-claim (qualifier) (G-C(Q)) sebanyak 2,8%, ground-warrant (backing)- claim (G-W(B)-C) sebanyak 4,7%, serta ground-warrant-claim (rebuttal) (G-W-C(R)) sebanyak 0,9%. Kata kunci: buku ajar, pola argumentasi Toulmin This qualitative research aimed to describe and explain Toulmin's argumentation pattern on chemistry textbook of Tenth Grade of High School in second semester using the curriculum of 2013. The object of this research is Toulmin's argumentation pattern contained in chemistry textbook. The method used for data collection were document study. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this research are the chemistry textbooks used in schools containing as many as 35.8% arguments and as much as 64,2% non-arguments. Toulmin's argumentation patterns obtained in the materials of chemistry textbook of Tenth Grade in second semester using the curriculum 2013 are ground-claim (G-C) of 23,6%, ground-warrant-claim (G-W-C) of 3.8%, ground-claim (qualifier) (G-C(Q)) of 2.8%, ground-warrant (backing)-claim (G-W(B)-C) of 4.7%, and ground-warrant-claim (rebuttal) (G-W-C(R)) of 0.9%.
