Abstract

Anak berkebutuhan khusus tipe slow learner membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama dibandingkan siswa lainnya untuk memahami materi matematika. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami anak berkebutuhan khusus tipe slow learner di sekolah formal. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian studi kasus dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pemilihan subjek penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua orang guru matematika dan satu orang anak berkebutuhan khusus tipe slow learner. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika anak berkebutuhan khusus adalah belum adanya rancangan pembelajaran, metode pembelajaran, dan media pembelajaran khusus kelas inklusi, pemberian materi dan evaluasi pembelajaran yang sama dengan siswa lain, serta penggunaan bahasa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Special needs slow learner type need a longer time than other students to understand math material. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify the causes of the learning difficulties experienced by children with special needs slow learner type in formal schools. This type of research is a case study research using descriptive qualitative methods. The selection of research subjects was carried out by purposive sampling consisting of two mathematics teachers and one slow learner type of child with special needs. From the results of the study, it was found that the cause of the difficulty of learning mathematics for children with special needs was that there was no design, method, and special learning media for inclusion classes, the provision of materials and evaluation of learning similar to other students, and the use of language in mathematics learning.
