<![CDATA[Abstrak : Perkembangan teoretis mengenai pemaknaan atas kota dan pengelolaannya dalam ruang lingkup studi sosiologi perkotaan merupakan sesuatu yang penting untuk diikuti. Selalu ada perkembangan baru di dalam konteks dialektika teoretis. Artikel ini sendiri bermaksud untuk menjelaskan konsep ruang menurut seorang sosiolog cum filsuf dari Prancis yang bernama Henri Lefebvre. Berbeda dengan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Thompson (2017), Christian dan Desmiwati (2018), dan Nurhadi et al. (2019) yang berupaya melihat kontekstualisasi konsep ruang Lefebvre dalam fenomena sosiologis, dengan metode penelitian kualitatif analisis deskriptif, artikel ini berupaya untuk menjelaskan konsep ruang menurut Lefebvre per se itu sendiri. Temuan dari artikel ini menunjukkan tiga hal penting yang dapat ditarik dari konsep ruang Lefebvre, yakni produksi ruang di kota, kontestasi konflik ruang, dan partisipasi masyarakat sebagai perwujudan konkret hak atas kota. Abstract : It is important to understand all various concepts of the city and its management in the perspective of urban sociology. There is always new development in the context of theoretical dialectics. This article itself intends to explain the concept of space according to a french sociologist cum philosopher, namely Henri Lefebvre. It takes a different approach of analysis compared with previous research conducted by Thompson (2017), Christian and Desmiwati (2018), and Nurhadi et al. (2019) which intend to contextualize the concept of space according to Lefebvre in various sociological phenomena. Using descriptive analysis within a qualitative method, this article attempts to explain the concept of space according to Lefebvre per se itself. The finding of this article shows three important issues that could be taken from the concept of space offered by Lefebvre. Those are the production of space in a city, contestation of space conflict, and participation of city residents as a manifestation of the concept of right to the city.]]>
