Abstract

PG Pesantren Baru PTPN X is a sugar factory located in East Java and has a large potential for sugar cane litter. Sugar cane litter is a rich in organic material that can be processed into organic fertilizer in the form of compost. This study aims to determine the results of chopping and testing the performance of a modified sugar cane litter chopper machine. The addition of feeders to the implement refers to a sugarcane harvester. The results of this study indicate the category "Medium". with an average length of 10 cm in length. In the performance test, it was found that the value of fuel consumption at a speed of 3.08 km/h was 13.15 liters/ha. at a speed of 4.13 km/h of 19.33 liters/ha. at a speed of 6.55 km/h for 16.65 liters/ha. The theoretical field capacity testing at tractor forward speed is 3.08km/h, 4.13 km/h and 6.55km/hour are 0.56 ha/h, 0.75 ha/h and 1.19 ha/h, respectively. Then the effective field capacity test obtained the value of capacity at speeds of 3.08km/h, 4.13 km/h and 6.55 km/h are respectively 0.49ha/h, 0.55 ha/h and 0.61 ha/h. In the field efficiency test for the speed of 3.08km/h 4.13 km/h and 6.55 km/h are 87.15%, 72.70% and 51.46%, respectively. Testing the value of the wheel slip for speeds of 3.08km/h. 4.13km/h and 6.55 km/h obtained results respectively are 5.97% , 8.35% and 15.16%
