Abstract

In the teaching and learning process in the college or university, communication is one of the things needed as a milestone for lecturers and students. Such communication occurs between lecturers and especially for students at English Education Department IAIN Langsa. Different ways of communicating create different impressions and different impact for students. This is what researchers want to find out. So the purpose of this study is to reveal the communication that exists between lecturers and students in the English Education Department IAIN Langsa has an effective or not. This research is a qualitative research, through data with an observation and interview given to the students. The researcher took a sample of 100 students starting from 3rd semester until last semester. The results of the study showed that communication between students has been included in the effective category. Then it can be concluded that the communication that has been established by lecturers and by students specifically at English Education Department is effective communication.
